Why Japanese Are ANGRY With Kim Kardashian



Many Japanese people are angry with Kim Kardashian because she launched a new brand and called her garment "kimono" which is a type of traditional Japanese clothes. Not only her garment has nothing to with kimono, but she also trademarked and tries to trademark names that include "kimono".

BEGIN Japanology - Ryukyu Kimono


Bingata (Okinawan: 紅型, literally "red style") is an Okinawan traditional resist dyed cloth, made using stencils and other methods. It is generally brightly colored and features various patterns, usually depicting natural subjects such as fish, water, and flowers. Bingata is worn during traditional Ryūkyū arts performances and historical reenactments.
