Bangladesh protest: Families of missing people demand their return

In Bangladesh, the families of alleged victims of forced disappearances and opposition MPs formed a human chain to demand their return. This is part of a wider campaign against human rights violations ahead of next month's election. The government says the allegations are false and fabricated.

Justice for Thailand’s Disappeared

 

The abduction of a Thai activist in Cambodia has sparked protests and calls for justice for him and others gone missing.

Since 1980, the United Nations has recorded 82 cases of forced disappearances in Thailand. Some people have been found dead, others are never found at all.

Fear of government retaliation means families of the disappeared are often left to fight their cases alone.
