Story Of The Year

Protests, uprisings, and massive mobilizations of international dissent.
December of 2010 saw the beginning of the Arab spring in Tunisia when a fruit vendor set himself on fire following being harassed by the police he "screamed how can I survive like this." As the protests spread across Tunisia even with severe police enforcement the people were not deterred. Leading to the President Ben-Ali fleeing the country after more than 20 years in power.which can best be described as dictatorial. On January 25 the biggest protest in the history of Egypt occurred. Three weeks later Hosni Mubarak's 31 year rule came to an end. Throughout the world the average citizen rose-up against the policies of their governments. Greece, Spain, Great Britain. Libya and America it didn't matter people wanted to be heard.
