Japan's Pinheaded Prime Minister Visits Yasukuni Shrine

Yasukuni shrine in Tokyo is where more than 2.5 million of Japan's war dead are interred along with 14 Class A War Criminals from World War II.   Yasukuni is also known for its war "museum" which strives to deny all the wartime atrocities committed by the Japanese imperial army.   Thus the negative reactions from neighboring countries whenever Japanese politicians or Prime Minister's choose to visit.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Thursday his visit to the controversial Yasukuni war shrine was a pledge that Japan would not go to war again and was not intended to hurt Chinese or South Koreans.
“I chose this day to report to enshrined spirits what we have done in the year since the administration launched and to pledge and determine that never again will people suffer in war,” he told reporters at the shrine.
But what follows is one of two moron quotes of the  week:

“I have no intention at all to hurt the feelings of Chinese or South Korean people. Like many prime ministers who have visited Yasukuni after the war, I wish to continue friendly relations with China and South Korea, which are important and benefit national interests,” he said.

Shinzo Abe knows that these visits cause an eminence amount of consternation to the governments of South Korea and China.  Here's the problem Prime Minister Abe is an historical revisionist who truly believes that the comfort women didn't exist or that the Rape of Nanjing wasn't a premeditated attack on unarmed civilians but an actual battle.

Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters the government hoped Abe’s visit would not further affect ties.
“I understand that a politician’s visit or a minister’s visit to the shrine is a matter of his or her personal belief,” he told reporters. “Regardless, I believe we must avoid letting an affair as such develop into a political or diplomatic issue.”

That's like saying the world would gladly except a visit to a Nazi cemetery by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.   If that happened she would widely condemned for her  actions and rightfully be forced to resign.
