The Week That Was

Even though little will come of it 3 executives from TEPCO the operator of the The Fukushima Daiichi plant will face trial thanks to some really pissed off Japanese citizens.  After all the mighty aren't allowed to go to jail in Japan.

People constantly make analogies to George Orwell's 1984 on a wide range of issues dealing with governance on an authoritarian level.   Let's face it 1984 isn't a metaphor any longer  its here and has been for 30 years.   The mass surveillance of the NSA and the "We've always been at war with " insert name here" is how America conducts foreign with few exceptions.  So, it was no surprise when it was revealed that the NSA had been spying on the Japanese government no one was surprised.

After spouting all kinds of racist crap about Mexicans The Hair believes they'll vote for him in droves. They'll vote alright just not for him or his overt racism.

What was that you said? Could you speak a little clearer and in a language we might understand.

How best to show your support for a symbol of racism and  a failed state?
Pull a gun on your opponents.
