The only Asian country to impose sanctions was Japan, a nation that has its own history of conflict with Russia stretching back to the Russo-Japanese War of 1904/5

The Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and the Lugansk/Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) were established in 2014 following the Euromaidan Protests and the Russian annexation of Crimea as pro-Russian separatist states.

The Georgian Legion was formed by ethnic Georgians in 2014, and was one of many volunteer battalions actively serving alongside the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbas region against Russian-backed separatists.

What Happened to the Old Japanese Flag?


 Japan's flag is one of the most iconic and easily recognisable. Known in Japanese as the Hinomaru, it symbolises the sun and by extension the emperor.
