What is Russia trying to achieve by attacking Odesa?

 

Russia has launched a new wave of missiles at the Ukrainian port city of Odesa. This came hours before a planned summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian ally Alexander Lukashenko, where they are expected to discuss deepening their militry alliance. Officials say one person was killed and at least nineteen wounded in the overnight attack, including four children. Odesa's Transfiguration Cathdral was badly damaged in the raid. Russia has repeatedly attacked the strategic port city since Moscow pulled out of a grain export deal last week.

More than 4 million Ukrainian refugees have left the war-torn country since it was invaded by Russia. A group of young musicians from Kharkiv and Odesa have found safety in Denmark, after receiving help from a local music school. They’ll now be able to continue to study and play music.
