Creating An Autocracy In Full Public View

With the opening of Donald Trump's impeachment trial last Tuesday in the U.S. Senate its become quite apparent that with the Republican party is willfully assisting in the creation of an autocracy.   While this may seem like chicken little and the sky is falling or the boy that cried wolf it isn't.  In their opening statements Trump's impeachment council asserted that the constitution and the rule of law aren't applicable.  This coincides with the defense used by House Republicans during the Judicial Committee hearings in December of 2019.    Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer proffered amendments on the trials first day asking simply that the Senate vote allow relevant   witnesses and evidence from the prosecution and defense be allowed.   All 11 amendments were voted down along party lines.  If was the constant refrain and complaint House Republicans that House Democrats blocked such submissions, when in fact it was the White House under the direction of Donald Trump to not cooperate with the investigation by blocking witnesses from testifying and the submission of documents. 

As for creating an autocracy in the title:  When Donald Trump first began asserting that he was unencumbered by the checks and balances written into the constitution and that the rule of law didn't apply as he was president many of course stated that that was completely ridiculous.  Yet, these absurd views  have gain mainstream acceptance. 

Given that acceptance the usurpation of the constitution has began and will continue unabated as Senate Majority Mitch McConnell preordained following his impeachment by the House that Donald Trump would be acquitted no matter the evidence.  If this follows its logical course Americas constitution and the Republic which it help to create and supported for over 200 years will come to an end and Donald Trump will become Americas first autocrat.   

Donald Trump Can't Revoke Birthright Citizenship

Donald Trump who's as dumb  as a rock along with being an obvious racist and white nationalist.  All this is part of his efforts to increase voter turnout among his most fervent supporters.  As I said Donald Trump is just plain stupid.   Because birthright citizenship is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution through the 14th amendment.  To repeal an amendment would require a 2/3 majority vote in the House and Senate. Followed by 38 states legislatures voting for repeal.  That's not going to happen.

   

President Donald Trump vowed to the right of citizenship to children born in the United States to non-citizens and illegal immigrants in his latest bid to dramatically reshape immigration policies just days before the midterm elections.

Trump would target the citizenship right through an executive order, he told news website Axios in an interview published on Tuesday, a move that would prompt a legal fight.

The right of U.S. citizenship is granted to U.S.-born children under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, which cannot be changed by the president.

The text of the 14th Amendment reads: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.” Current Supreme Court precedent shows that the children of noncitizens born in the United States are citizens.
