A high court judge was dismissed on April 3 in an impeachment trial after being indicted for posting offensive social media messages, the first to be removed for such cause in Japan.

The Diet’s Judge Indictment Committee had impeached Kiichi Okaguchi, 58, a judge with the Sendai High Court, in June 2021.

As Okaguchi has no avenue for appeal, he will automatically lose his certification to work in the legal sector.

There have been a total of 10 impeachment trials in Japan with Okaguchi being the eighth judge to be dismissed.

In addition to talking about their use of the AI system, called Lavender, the intelligence sources claim that Israeli military officials permitted large numbers of Palestinian civilians to be killed, particularly during the early weeks and months of the conflict.
