Revealed: Trump campaign strategy to deter millions of Black Americans from voting in 2016

Channel 4 News has exclusively obtained a vast cache of data used by Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign on almost 200 million American voters.

It reveals that 3.5 million Black Americans were categorised by Donald Trump’s campaign as ‘Deterrence’ – voters they wanted to stay home on election day.

Tonight, civil rights campaigners said the evidence amounted to a new form of voter “suppression” and called on Facebook to disclose ads and targeting information that has never been made public.

Why you keep using Facebook, even if you hate it

What happened with Cambridge Analytica highlights this perfectly. Before many people join a network, it may not be so useful. But the more people join, the more useful it becomes. That’s the network effect. Facebook is a step beyond that — it’s the network effect on steroids. This is what makes facebook so great — it knows everything about you! — and what makes facebook so awful — IT KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU. And while its network of 2.13 billion monthly users doesn’t pay any money to use the core service, Facebook makes plenty of money — millions daily — buy selling that user data. And everyone on the site agreed to this when they signed up.

Cambridge Analytica execs boast of role in getting Trump elected

Execs from firm at heart of Facebook data breach say they used ‘unattributable and untrackable’ ads, according to undercover expose

Senior executives from the firm at the heart of Facebook’s data breach boasted of playing a key role in bringing Donald Trump to power and said they used “unattributable and untrackable” advertising to support their clients in elections, according to an undercover expose.
In secretly recorded conversations, Cambridge Analytica’s CEO, Alexander Nix, claimed he had met Trump “many times”, while another senior member of staff said the firm was behind the “defeat crooked Hillary” advertising campaign
“We just put information into the bloodstream of the internet and then watch it grow, give it a little push every now and again over time to watch it take shape,” said the executive. “And so this stuff infiltrates the online community, but with no branding, so it’s unattributable, untrackable.”

Throughout the campaign Donald Trump made audacious claims that not only was the election being rigged against him, that the Democratic  primary had also been skewed in the favour of Hillary Clinton.  What he never disclosed was a coordinated campaign to suppress the votes of women and minorities. Remember; Under the American system it's possible (This has happened twice in less than 20 years.) to win the presidential election without winning the popular vote. One simply needs 270 Electoral College votes to win and Donald Trump managed that by winning in 3 crucial by 70,000 votes.

Trump's also used elmails taken from the Democratic National Committee incoordination with Wikileaks to place a question of trust worthiness about Hillary Clinton into voters minds. Never mind they that some those emails were edited in such a manner  to change what they were originally about.

Cambridge Analytica whistleblower: 'We spent $1m harvesting millions of Facebook profiles'
