The Age of Xi: China’s leader looks to a third term
Ahead of the 20th Party Congress, the CCP ramps up pro-Xi Jinping propaganda. Plus, the crushing of speech in Bangladesh.
Having brought Chinese journalists to heel, President Xi Jinping’s power grab is, predictably, cheered on by the country’s media.

China Wants To Rewrite Its Coronavirus Failures
The Chinese Communist government has ratcheted up its efforts to rewrite history to cover up its failure to contain the coronavirus outbreak. Li Wenliang who tried to warn other doctors about the outbreak was at first detained by the security services and told not disparage the state. What followed was a complete cock-up leading not only to uncontrolled outbreak but, the death of Li Wenliang. His death caused serious outrage among social media users in China on Weibo . It wasn't until March that the Chinese Communist government finally and I'm sure reluctantly issued a statement acknowledging the doctors attempts to warn the country and the world about the coronavirus outbreak.
Its been revealed that the CIA has tried to warn the White House about the statistics coming from the Chinese government. Of course Donald Trump just ignored the warning.
Sadly a large swath of the American public will believe the Chinese governments rewrite of history.

The Chinese state is ramping up its English-language media campaigns in a bid to defend the country’s handling of the coronavirus crisis, highlight the failings of western governments, and raise China’s standing on the world stage.
Photographs of Chinese aid – dubbed “facemask diplomacy” – arriving at Heathrow on Saturday including boxes labelled “Keep Calm and Cure Coronavirus” have been promoted to UK audiences by the Xinhua news agency. Some younger Chinese diplomats have used English-language Twitter, which is banned within China, to spread false suggestions that the virus may have been started by the west to discredit the Chinese state.
Prof Kerry Brown, an associate fellow on the Asia-Pacific programme at the thinktank Chatham House, suggested the country was trying to turn a national disaster into a global triumph: “They’re trying to push back against some of the politicisation of this in America and to try to get control of the narrative before it spirals out of control.”

China Takes Social Engineering To The Next Level
In the first season of The Orville an episode aired called majority rules. In the episode its revealed that the countries justice system is based upon a perverse form of Facebook. Every citizen is required to wear an electronic badge with a green arrow for up votes and a red arrow for down votes. If a person commits an offense which offends the populace at large the individual must go on an apology tour. If that fails the person can be reset. They're given a lobotomy.
The Chinese government seems on track to follow The Orville's example. Creating an entire socially engineered society based upon the ideals of the Chinese Communist party.

China blocked 23 million “discredited” travellers from buying plane or train tickets last year as part of the country’s controversial “social credit” system aimed at improving the behaviour of citizens.
According to the National Public Credit Information Centre’s 2018 report, 17.5 million people were banned from buying flights and 5.5 million barred from purchasing high-speed train tickets because of social credit offences. The report released last week said: “Once discredited, limited everywhere”.
The social credit system aims to incentivise “trustworthy” behaviour through penalties as well as rewards. According to a government document about the system dating from 2014, the aim is to “allow the trustworthy to roam everywhere under heaven while making it hard for the discredited to take a single step.”
