When the Stupid Burns This Hard: It's Difficult to Pick a Winner

At the beginning of this week  Taru "I'm an idiot" Hashimoto major of Osaka posited an outrageous claim that comfort women were a necessary part of the Japanese Imperial army.   Just to insure the masses clearly understood what he meant he doubled down on the moron quotient on Wednesday.

Not to be out done but proceeding "I'm an Idiot" was Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who like many a conservative politician in Japan believes that all those war crimes and human rights abuses which occurred   during Japan's colonization and participation in World War II as part of the Axis powers never really happened.  It's a conspiracy concocted to humiliate Japan.  It one just denies it enough it will all come true.

Not wanting to be left out of the parade of ignorance two Chinese "scholars" published an article in the Peoples Daily claiming

“Unresolved problems relating to the Ryukyu Islands have reached the time for reconsideration,” wrote Zhang Haipeng and Li Guoqiang, citing post-World War II declarations that required Japan to return Chinese territory.
The article also repeated Chinese government arguments for China’s historical claims over a set of tiny uninhabited islets in the East China Sea known as Diaoyu in Chinese and Senkaku in Japanese.

Now its the turn of a Chinese general to apply face to palm with a massive amount of force.  Hopefully no injury was incurred.
The comments by People’s Liberation Army Major General Luo Yuan were published by the China News Service website Wednesday, after the country’s leading newspaper last week carried a call to review Tokyo’s sovereignty over the chain.
Luo emphasised that the islands were historically in a vassal relationship with imperial Chinese dynasties.
Those ties did not necessarily mean they were part of China, he said, adding: “But we can be certain of one point. The Ryukyus don’t belong to Japan.”
“If the Ryukyus don’t belong to you,” he said, referring to Tokyo, “how can you talk about the Diaoyus?”
So, any state, territory, city, county, wide spot  in the road, post office or other known or unknown political entity paid tribute to a more powerful kingdom, potentate, Grand Poobah, Caesar, Kaiser, Czar, manager of the local McDonalds  or president of the daffodil association they are owned by them.  How nice
