Shots have been fired at a gathering of supporters of ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi in Cairo.
A BBC correspondent at the scene says there have been casualties.
Thousands of supporters of Mr Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood had gathered in the capital to demand the reinstatement of the former president.
The army, which removed and detained him in response to widespread unrest, had deployed troops to flashpoints around Cairo after Friday prayers.
