The Government Of Singapore Loves Censorship

Since gaining independence in 1965 Singapore has been a one party state. Yes, they elections and people do vote but the results are always the same.  Like the elections in the old Soviet Union you can vote for any candidate or party of your choice as long as you vote Communist.  In Singapore sure you can vote for any party or candidate just as long as you vote for the Peoples Action Party which runs the city state like any good democratic dictatorship.  The latest offense to the moral and societal mores a book about gay penguins.  As any good American religious extremist, I mean any Singaporean government official will  tell you a fictional novel about gay penguins will destroy the social fabric of the city state.

So, it must be burned they tell you.

State-run libraries in Singapore have deemed a children's book about two male penguins raising a baby chick inappropriate and are to destroy all copies following complaints the content was against the city-state's family values.
The country's information minister Yaacob Ibrahim has said he supports the decision to pulp all copies of the book along with two other titles after the National Library Board (NLB), which runs 26 public libraries in Singapore, pulled them from the shelves.
The books are 'And Tango Makes Three', about a male-male penguin couple in the Central Park zoo; 'The White Swan Express: A Story About Adoption', which involves a lesbian couple; and 'Who's In My Family: All About Our Families'.
I suggest a good ole fashioned book barbeque.  Make sure everyone's invited so that not only will it teach intolerance think of the family values that can be learned from all this.
