Israel has brought the military tactics of its war in Gaza to the occupied West Bank, where Palestinians face mass forced displacements, a surge in airstrikes and a sharp rise in attacks on children and other civilians, a Palestinian-Israeli rights group has said.

B’tselem has detailed the impact of Israel’s most intense operations in the area for at least two decades in a report that describes what it calls the “Gazafication” of Israel’s occupation there.

‘What kind of life are we living?’

Israel’s blocking of food, medicine and fuel imports is taking a toll Gaza, with some bakeries closing and food prices increasing.

Abdel-Nasser al-Ajrami, head of the bakers’ union in Gaza, said six out of the 22 bakeries still able to operate in the besieged territory had already closed after they ran out of cooking gas.

Romania: Georgescu supporters turn violent over election ban

Calin Georgescu had been leading in opinion polls with around 40% of the vote. He is expected to appeal the decision to exclude him from the election.

Romania's electoral commission on Sunday banned the candidacy of far-right politician Calin Georgescu for the upcoming presidential elections.

The electoral bureau said in a statement that it had adopted "the rejection of the registration of the independent candidacy" of Georgescu without providing any details justifying the move.

Georgescu denounced the move in a post on the social media platform X, saying it was "a direct blow to the heart of democracy worldwide."

Iran Signals Openness to Limited Nuclear Talks With U.S.

Iran’s U.N. mission said it would be willing to discuss its nuclear program if talks were restricted to military concerns, after its supreme leader appeared to reject President Trump’s offer to start discussions.

Iran has signaled that it is open to talks about its nuclear program with the United States if they are restricted to military concerns, a day after the country’s supreme leader had appeared to reject an overture from President Trump to hold discussions.

“If the objective of negotiations is to address concerns vis-à-vis any potential militarization of Iran’s nuclear program, such discussions may be subject to consideration,” Iran’s mission to the United Nations said in a social media post on Sunday.

It was unclear if the comments represented a shift in policy after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader who has ultimate authority in such matters, issued an angry statement following Mr. Trump’s offer last week to restart talks.
