There are a lot of powerful moments in these additional CNN clips of the Capitol attack (you probably saw some of them yesterday during the Jan. 6th committee hearing - they were taken by Alexandra Pelosi, who is a documentary filmmaker), but that's the one that jumps out to me: Nancy Pelosi telling Mike Pence not to let anyone know his location. Pelosi knew exactly what they were dealing with: Insurrection at the urging of the president. She knew Pence was in danger.

 Supporters of President Donald Trump who stormed and invaded the Capitol on Wednesday reportedly intended to find and execute Vice President Mike Pence. 

Reuters News Pictures Editor Jim Bourg revealed in a Twitter post that he heard “at least 3 different rioters at the Capitol say they hoped to find Vice President Mike Pence and execute him by hanging him from a Capitol Hill tree as a traitor.”

“It was a common line being repeated,” he added. “Many more were just talking about how the VP should be executed.”

All because Mike Pence actually followed his constitutional duty to affirm that Joe Biden would be the next President of the United States. Not that Mike Pence is a hero or a profile in courage he isn't. He does however want to run for president in 2024.

People said about Sarah Palin that she lacked simple curiosity and then along came Donald Trump. He doesn't just lack intellectual curiosity but a complete misunderstanding of history, current events, governance and government. He, like the news outlets he so loves creates his own facts or as Kellyanne Conway put it "Alternative facts."  With that list of basic failures comes those that most affect the people he supposedly governs. Lack of empathy, misogyny, racism, whit nationalism and his extreme narcissism.  Are you then surprised that he wants to pretend that the coronavirus pandemic has magically  disappeared and the country has returned to normal. No, you aren't. So, to assuage his fragile ego and continue the fantasy that normalcy has returned the country he's threatening to withhold funds from states who won't reopen their schools.  Of course this isn't for the benefit of the students to further advance their education. It's all for the sole purpose of assuaging Donald Trump's ego and to, he hopes increase his chances for reelection. How exposing the nations students to a worldwide pandemic will increase his chances at reelection are known only to him.

Donald Trump has threatened to cut school funding for areas that refuse to reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic, adding he disagrees with the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “very tough” and “expensive” guidelines.

Pence says 'it's time' to get kids back to school, adding CDC will release new guidelines

Vice President Mike Pence, a member of the White House's Coronavirus Task Force, addressed the issue with schools reopening in the fall during a press briefing on Tuesday. 

He said the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will now release new guidelines after Donald Trump called the current ones "very tough" and "expensive". 

"We're absolutely determined to work in partnership with our states to give the guidance for states and communities to be able to safely reopen our schools," Mr Pence said.

The new guidelines would be "part of a five-part series of recommendations that will give all new tools to our schools," he added. 
Earlier on Tuesday Mr Trump threatened to cut the federal funding of any school or district that refused to reopen in the fall. The president also pushed for schools reopening on Monday. 

"As the President made clear yesterday it's time. It's time for us to get our kids back to school," Mr Pence said.


I'm sure Trump's most ardent supporters will be willing to sacrifice their children's lives to the coronavirus and his ego. While the other 70% will not.

In a move meant to emulate every authoritarian government of the modern era the Trump administration will not allow Dr. Tony Fauci or Dr. Deborah Brix to appear on CNN because? CNN is no longer willing to show the Trump Propaganda Power Hour in its entirety.  Trump's Mini Me Mike Pence is the one running interference. 

 CNN reports: "Pence's office, which is responsible for booking the officials on networks during the pandemic, said it will only allow experts such as Dr. Deborah Birx or Dr. Anthony Fauci to appear on CNN if the network televises the portion of the White House briefings that includes the vice president and other coronavirus task force members." 
Because lying Donnie can't control his pathological need to spew untruths CNN is cutting away from the Propaganda Power Hour to fact check the chief state propagandist which annoys Donald 'I need affirmation and constant praise.' Trump to no end.  

All the networks both broadcast  and cable need to stop airing these campaign rallies as they do nothing to reassure the public that the government is doing everything in its power to stem the coronavirus pandemic.

  Jan. 22: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.” — Trump in a CNBC interview.

Feb. 23: “We have it very much under control in this country.” — Trump in speaking to reporters.

Feb. 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!” — Trump in a tweet.

President Donald Trump told a group of governors on Monday that they're responsible for getting the vital medical equipment needed to treat coronavirus patients in their states.

"Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves," Trump told the governors during a phone call, The New York Times reported. "We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves. Points of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself."

Government watchdog: Hospitals face severe shortages of medical gear, confusing guidance from government

According to the report, one hospital received two shipments from the Federal Emergency Management Agency with protective gear that had expired in 2010. Another hospital system received 1,000 masks from federal and state governments, even though it expected a much larger delivery, and "500 of the masks were for children and therefore unusable for adult staff," the report said. Elastic on N95 masks from one state government reserve had "dry-rotted" and could not be used, it said.

State officials in Alabama, South Carolina and Pennsylvania said they had received expired medical supplies.

Diagnostic testing kits to identify patients or staff members with the virus were also in short supply, according to the inspector general. Hospitals said they were struggling with "a severe shortage of test kits," limiting their ability to monitor the health of patients and staff members, the report said. There were also problems with incomplete testing kits missing nasal swabs or reagents to detect the virus.

"Across the industry millions are needed and we only have hundreds," a hospital administrator was quoted as saying.

Remember both Donald Trump and Mike Pence stated over and over again that there would be millions of test kits and another personal protection gear which has never appeared.

Vice President Mike Pence said over the weekend that it is "understandable" that President Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., would say that Democrats want millions of Americans to die of the coronavirus.

In an interview that aired on Sunday, CNN's Jake Tapper asked Pence about the remarks made by the son of the president several days earlier.

"For them to try to take a pandemic and seemingly hope that it comes here and kills millions of people so that they can end Donald Trump's streak of winning is a new level of sickness," Pence told Fox News on Friday.

"Can we agree that neither Democrats or Republicans wants Americans to get the coronavirus and die?" Tapper asked the vice president. "You don't think Democrats want people to contract the coronavirus and die?"

Pence declined to directly answer the question.

Mike Pence the Republican governor of the U.S. state of Indiana using all his powers of hate and racism forced a Syrian family of 3 who'd been waiting 3 years to resettle in the U.S. to change their plans after his state's division of Family Resources sent a letter to   Exodus Refugee Immigration which is working to help the family resettle was told the state would offer no assistance to the family in question.   Like 28 other Republican and 1 Democratic governor they've decided that racism, hatred and fear trump humanitarian assistance to those feeling the terror of not only ISIS but of President Bashar Assad's government.

These Republican politicians are fueling the hatred, racism and physical attacks on those they view as terrorist simply for being Muslims.   

 A family of Syrian refugees destined for resettlement in Indiana was denied entry to the state and instead began a new life in Connecticut on Wednesday.
The family of three – a mother, father and their five-year-old son – had been waiting three years to move to Indiana before their placement was changed, a consequence of the growing tensions in the wake of the Paris attacks that Syrian refugees could pose a threat to national security.The governor of Indiana, Mike Pence, is one of at least 30 governors who have said they do not want to resettle Syrian refugees in their state even though they do not have the authority to refuse to do so.
Rather than starting a new life in Indianapolis, the family will settle in New Haven, Connecticut.
