Donald Trump must be quite proud of what his ignorance, impetuous behavior and his complete and utter indifference to the unintended consequences caused by his ordering the killing of Gen. Qasem Suleiman has wrought. Did he or does really believe that the Iranian government won't seek retribution for the U.S. killing Gen. Suleiman in Baghdad. Just today the Iraqi parliament voted on a resolution ordering the withdrawal of all foreign military forces from Iraqi soil, while the government in Tehran announced its complete withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPA) which was negotiated with the Five Permanent Members of UN Security Council and Germany.
As the JCPA was negotiated by the Obama administration Donald Trump upon his ascending to the Oval Office announced the agreement was deeply flawed even though those departments involved in verifying Iran's adherence to the treaty announced that Iran was in complete compliance. With the Americas announced withdrawal the situation in the Middle East only grown more fraught while tensions between Washington and Tehran have reached a level not seen since the embassy hostage crisis in 1979. Donald Trump's administration of course, like their other foreign policy initiatives hasn't any substantial replacement for an agreement while not perfect was in fact reining in Iran's nuclear programs.
Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif tweeted details on the legislative action decided upon by Iranian cabinet members Sunday in which the country will no longer limit itself to the nuclear restrictions set forth in 2015 by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“As 5th & final REMEDIAL step under paragraph 36 of JCPOA, there will no longer be any restriction on number of centrifuges. This step is within JCPOA & all 5 steps are reversible upon EFFECTIVE implementation of reciprocal obligations Iran's full cooperation w/IAEA will continue," Zarif tweeted today.
