President of the American Federation of Teachers Randi Weingarten, a union representing more than 1.7 million teachers, discusses recent school funding threats from President Donald Trump and statements on teachers' remote working from Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
Let's listen to Betsy DeVos who hates public education and is a large investor in charter schools and an advocate for universities that exist not to actually educate but to generate income for the companies which own them. When asked on CNN earlier today what the criteria was for the safe reopening of schools Betsy deflected like a ball bouncing off of force field. She and Donald Trump aren't concerned with the health, well being or the education of the countries school aged children, but how it all looks. You know, the illusion of normalcy.
