America Elects A Demagogue : Donald Trump

In a complete repudiation of good governance and what can only be seen as a longing for an authoritarian ruler  American voters elected Donald Trump President.

Here's a person who's embolden racists, isolationists and bigots of all stripes.  A man who has no understanding of how the American government works or how policy is implemented.  A man who doesn't understand or want to know any of the basic concepts affecting domestic and foreign policy.  In the area of domestic policy Donald Trump has advocated for the deportation of all 11 million people living in America who are undocumented  and for building a wall along America's southern border.  (The Berlin Wall lives.)  In the area of foreign policy he has on several occasions stated that America's military wouldn't just go after the world's terrorists but their families as well, stating they should also be killed. (That's a war crime.)  As for America's military alliances? Well, you'd better pay up.   He once pronounced NATO as obsolete and that America's continued involvement would be predicated upon member states paying fees to America.  Can a like a protection racket.   Donald Trump thinks that South Korea and Japan should have their own nuclear arsenals even though neither country wants them. He also wonders why America can't  just use its nuclear weapons simply because the U.S. has them.

During the second Presidential debate Donald Trump stated that if elected he would arrest and imprison Hillary Clinton even though she's never been charged with any criminal offense.  Authoritarian rulers do that not American President's unless you're  Donald Trump.

He's called America's press liars and claimed they were biased against him.  During the campaign Donald Trump has advocated going after those media outlets he believes have broadcast or printed unfavourable stories about him.  Will he go the way of Turkey's Erdogan and start shutting down opposition media  outlets and arresting and imprisoning journalists?  To say that he won't would be a fool's errand.

Donald Trump has no business leading America or the world.  He's incapable of doing so because he's thin skinned,  can't handle criticism, views any slight as a personal attack and if wronged has the extremely bad habit of wanting revenge and won't stop until he has it.

Welcome To Donald Trump's America.

Darth Vader 2016 Presidential Campaign Ad #1

Darth Vader: He's building a Death Star and Alderaan is going to pay

Hires only the best people and villainous scum too

His Helmet is real and doesn't come from Acme or the Hair Club for Men

Supports all dictators: That sounds familiar

What Some Japanese Think About Donald Trump

When America votes for a new president the world pays attention. Because the policies implemented by the new president can have a wide ranging effect. Most American voters ignore this even though they should not because the those policies are the face of America.

Donald Trump Running To Fail

In an effort to continue his supersonic flight towards abject failure Donald Trump has now hired his third campaign manager in less than three months.  Given that he's so "great", has the "best brain," and a prefect sense of failure one shouldn't be surprised at these turn of events.   The person hired to right the SS Sinking Trump is Breitbart News executive chairman Stephen Bannon.  Breitbart News is an institution where truth is avoided and sycophantic praise of The Great Orange Cheetos God is all consuming.

Even though he is supposedly running for President of the United States one has to question if isn't really campaigning to be a fraternity president or the head of the John Birch Society.

Bannon has reportedly been counseling the candidate to “run more fully” as an “unabashed nationalist.” His ascension should permanently end the media’s fixation with a potential Trump pivot.
From The Wall Street Journal, which broke the news of Bannon’s hiring:
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is bringing two new managers to the top of his campaign in a bid to recover ground he has lost in recent weeks.Stephen Bannon, executive chairman of Breitbart News LLC, an outspoken Trump supporter and a former Goldman Sachs banker, will assume the new position of campaign chief executive. At the same time, Mr. Trump also is promoting Kellyanne Conway, a veteran GOP pollster and strategist, to become campaign manager. Ms. Conway has been a campaign adviser for several weeks.

Pollster Kellyanne Conway becomes campaign manager and Stephen Bannon of Breitbart News the CEO. Paul Manafort remains campaign chairman, but analysts say he has effectively been demoted.
Mr Trump told AP the new leaders were "terrific people... they're champs".
Mr Trump has seen his poll ratings slip since the party conventions last month.
He trails Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton both nationally and in key battleground states.

Angelo Carusone Explains How Trump Uses Fabrications And Controversy To Deliberately Manipulate The Media (video)

Carusone: Donald Trump Is "Dominating The Airwaves" And Is Not "Challenged With Facts"

ELIZABETH PURANAM (HOST): We heard from Trump in Florida earlier saying that, you know, nobody's received the kind of bad publicity, he actually used the words bad, and advertising that he has in this campaign and yet his numbers keep going up, this is what he said. I mean, does he get, is he getting bad publicity that he isn't asking for with the kind of things he is saying? And if his poll numbers do keep going up, is all publicity good publicity?

ANGELO CARUSONE: Well first, I would even challenge the premise which is that, in his claim that he is getting bad publicity. That doesn't certainly seem to be the case. You know, if you measure it out, he's gotten about $2 billion, $2 billion, worth of free airtime. That's, you know, 10 times more than the next best Republican rival, you know, has gotten in free or sort of earned media. So on balance, he is sort of dominating the airwaves there. But there's another element to it which is that if you look at the substance of those interviews, it's not that he is going into these interviews and he is being, you know, challenged with facts and aggressive, sort of like, you know, journalism and questions. Reporters are afraid that Donald Trump will shut him out. And so on balance, when he goes in there, they're very soft interviews. There's a hesitation to actually force Donald Trump to confront facts. It's typically, you know the discussions and the subject matter is exactly what he wants it to be about. Now on the surface it might seem like a controversy, but it's a controversy that he created. Which means he understands its benefit to him, his campaign, and where he needs to go with that controversy in order to maximize the benefits from it.

‘The Debateful Eight’: Watch The Simpsons Skewer the 2016 Election

Coming off of South Carolina’s primary vote, the show released a clip last night that opens with Marge Simpson having a nightmare about a three-way fight between Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton. Waking up hyperventilating, she laments “basic manners are gone from politics. What is it with these ding-dongs?”

To calm her nerves, Homer asks her to visualize a different kind of America “where Republicans, Democrats and Donald Trump all get along.”
