Coronavirus: Donald Trump steps up attacks on China and the media

The US president has sought to deflect criticism of his handling of the coronavirus pandemic by attacking China and the media over their coverage of it. Speaking at his daily taskforce briefing, Trump accused Beijing of suppressing early information about the spread of the virus in Wuhan, and the media of corruption. ‘They’re siding with China,’ he said. ‘It’s more than fake news; it’s corrupt news’

For almost two months Donald Trump and his conservative media allies  played down the threat of the coronavirus and when cases first emerged in the U.S. he stated that it was a Chinese and Democratic hoax meant to hinder his reelection chances and media outlets like Fox News and Breitbart went right along with the fraud. When asked about the then 15 known cases it stated that number would be quickly reduced to zero. With more than 10,000 reported cases in the U.S. that number exploded in the opposite direction. Still Donald Trump down played the severity of what was coming. It wasn't until a report was published projecting an exponential  growth in cases and deaths that he finally took it seriously for two days.  Donald Trump constantly states that no one could have seem this coming even though the first cases of the coronavirus appeared in China in December of 2019.  Being this unqualified  and incompetent will cause further harm to the citizens of America and Donald Trump won't care.
